The med-tec company PolarCool AB (publ.) is accelerating its establishment of PolarCap® in French rugby, as Top 14 club US Oyonnax sign a 2-year agreement and become the seventh professional club in the Top 14 to provide the PolarCap® System.
PolarCool develops and markets the product PolarCap®, which alleviates the effects of concussion. The primary users of PolarCap® include sports clubs, organizations, and facilities in contact sports such as ice hockey, rugby, football, and handball, but also other sports with an increased risk of concussion.
PolarCool has recently signed strategic agreements with a number of professional rugby clubs in the French Top 14. At present, US Oyonnax, Section Paloise, Aviron Bayonnais, Stade Français, Racing 92, Lyon Olympique and ASM Clermont are all providing the PolarCap® System. The company continues to see large potential in the French rugby market, which has 30 professional teams in only the Top 14 and Pro D2 alone, as well as over 1,800 teams at amateur level.

-We meet a substantial interest in the international rugby space, which is a sport with a very high risk of injury. More and more rugby teams are becoming aware of the opportunity to reduce the risk of long-term absences in the event of a player suffering a concussion. The agreement with US Oyonnax is of strategic value for the company’s continued establishment in French top rugby, even if the financial significance of individual agreements is limited.
